Polls

Gather feedback from players and parents quickly — whether you're deciding on a tournament, picking a jersey design, or checking uniform preferences before the season starts.

Creating a poll

Go to Comms Hub and click New Poll (or click the poll icon inside any thread). Fill in the poll details:

  1. 1Question — the poll question, e.g. "Which practice time works best for you?"
  2. 2Options — add at least two answer choices. Click + Add Option to add more. You can add up to 10 options.
  3. 3Deadline (optional) — set a date and time after which the poll closes automatically and no new votes are accepted.
  4. 4Allow multiple answers — toggle on if respondents can select more than one option (e.g. "Select all times you're available").
  5. 5Allow write-in answers — toggle on to let respondents type their own answer if none of the provided options fit. Write-ins appear in the results alongside the pre-set options.

Sharing a poll with your team

When you click Post Poll, you'll be asked to choose where to share it. Select a team thread (to reach all team members) or a specific existing thread. The poll appears as a message card within the thread. All thread participants — including contacts with portal access — receive a notification and can vote directly from Comms Hub or the player portal.

Polls can also be created as standalone (not linked to a thread) and shared via a direct link if you prefer to keep your threads clean.

How contacts and players vote

When a poll is posted to a thread, participants see the poll card with all options listed. They click their choice(s) and click Submit Vote. Contacts voting from the player portal see the same interface. Each person can vote once (unless multiple answers are enabled). Votes are anonymous by default — you can see the total count per option but not who voted for what. However, the vote breakdown list (see below) shows individual responses to help you track participation.

Viewing results and vote breakdown

Click on any poll card to open the full results view. You'll see:

  • A bar chart showing vote percentages per option at a glance.
  • A vote count for each option (e.g. "Saturday 9am — 8 votes / 60%").
  • A participation summary — how many team members have voted vs. total invited.
  • A breakdown list showing which option each named voter selected. This helps you see who hasn't voted yet so you can follow up.

Closing a poll early

If you have enough responses and don't want to wait for the deadline, open the poll results view and click Close Poll. This immediately prevents any further votes and marks the poll as closed in the thread. The results remain visible to all participants.

Tip: Use the "Allow multiple answers" option for availability polls (e.g. "Which of these Saturday times could you make it?"). This gives you a clearer picture of overlap across your squad rather than forcing everyone to pick just one option.
Note: Polls are a Pro feature. Upgrade from the Billing → Pricing page to create and share polls with your team.
