Tasks
Delegate match-day and season responsibilities to your coaching staff and team managers, track progress, and make sure nothing slips through the cracks on game day.
Creating a task
Go to Comms Hub → Tasks or open a match detail page and click Add Task in the Tasks section. Fill in the task details:
- 1Title — a short, action-oriented name (e.g. "Set up corner flags", "Print lineup sheets", "Confirm field permits").
- 2Description (optional) — additional context or instructions for the assignee.
- 3Due date — when the task needs to be completed by. You'll see overdue tasks highlighted in red.
- 4Assign to — choose specific people from your coaching staff or leave it unassigned for open self-assignment (see below).
- 5Link to match (optional) — associate this task with a specific match. Linked tasks appear on that match's detail page.
Click Create Task. If the task is assigned to someone, they receive an email notification.
Open tasks and self-assignment
If you leave the Assign to field blank, the task is created as an open task. Open tasks appear in the team's task list where any staff member can click Claim Task to take ownership of it. This is useful for recurring responsibilities where you don't care who does it, just that it gets done — such as "Bring training bibs to practice" or "Take attendance at warmup".
Marking tasks complete
Assignees can mark their tasks complete from the task list in Comms Hub or from the match detail page. Click the checkbox (or the Mark Complete button) next to a task. Completed tasks are visually struck through and move to a completed section at the bottom of the list. The task creator can see who completed it and when.
Task progress on match detail
When tasks are linked to a match, the match detail page shows a Tasks section with a progress indicator — for example, "3 of 5 tasks complete". This gives you a quick snapshot of match readiness at a glance. Overdue tasks are highlighted so you can take action before game day.
Editing a task after creation
Open the task from the task list and click Edit Task. You can change the title, description, due date, or reassign it to a different person. The assignee receives an email notification when a task is reassigned to them. The original assignee is notified that the task has been reassigned away.
Archiving completed tasks
After a match or event, you can archive completed tasks to keep the task list clean. Open the task and click Archive. Archived tasks are still accessible by filtering the task list to show Archived, but they won't clutter the active view. Tasks linked to a past match are archived automatically when the match date is more than 7 days in the past.
